Congratulations on receiving an offer of a place at Curtin in 2008.
This is a great achievement and in accepting your offer, you will become part of a great university - one that values its students and strives to provide the best possible learning environment. It is important to us that your university experience is a positive and rewarding one.
For information about accepting/deferring see 'Your Offer'.
If all of this seems daunting, remember that there are many support services available to you at Curtin, including a First Year Experience Coordinator who can help you with any issue that may be affecting your first year at the university. Our coordinator provides a dedicated "New-to-Curtin" web page and e-newsletter at the Unilife website. You'll be receiving a series of these newsletters via your Curtin email address at timely points during your first semester.
When you enrol, you will also be given an Orientation Passport which contains a whole range of useful information about the administration services and facilities Curtin has to offer. (Students who receive a preliminary round offer will be posted an Orientation Passport early in the new year).
If you have questions - please ask. There is always help available.
To get your studies off to the best possible start, it is important that you attend Orientation Week in the week before classes commence. O Week will familiarise you not only with administrative and course related matters, but also the social and sporting aspects of university life which are a big part of the overall university experience. I encourage you to support the Curtin Student Guild which provides a range of very useful support services to students and is involved in organising many social, sporting and club-based activities at our campuses.
Thank you for choosing Curtin and all the best with your studies. I hope that your university experience will be all you expect it to be.
